RTS Craft & Design Award Nomination for Moonshot
Moonshot, Dangerous’s epic portrayal of the first Moon landing, has been nominated for the RTS Craft & Design awards 2008/2009.
The coveted RTS Craft & Design Awards honours the industry’s most respected names in a wide variety of skills, from art direction to digital effects.
Nominated for Effects - Picture Enhancement, (Trevor Brown, Ascent 142),
Moonshot: The Flight of Apollo 11, (ITV1, History Channel, ProSieben, TF1, 2009) has been commended for its stunning, cinematic imagery.
Shot in Lithuania,
Moonshot tells the human story of three men confronted by a mission that promises to go down in history – if they succeed. If they fail they’ll be lucky to come home alive. Recreating a trip to the Moon, through 240,000 miles of weightlessness, posed a series of challenges for Director Richard Dale and Director of Photography Paul Jenkins that demanded the greatest attention to detail.
Inspired by Dangerous’s previous space-related project, the landmark series When We Left Earth, (Discovery 2008),
Moonshot won critical acclaim, not least for its rich and saturated period feel which complemented captivating performances and compelling archive.
Head of Post-Production Peter Parnham said: “Trevor Brown’s unique creative talent and empathetic approach adds an epic look to the film that leaves the audience feeling as if they are truly traveling through space.”
